Turk was a true gentleman, and a man of principle. It was a pleasure to work with him when he was a Trustee of the Local 80 Pension and Welfare Plans. My prayers and sympathy to the family.
So sorry to read of "Turk's"
passing. I worked with Turk 5 days a week in 1965 thru the early 70's at SunOlin Chemical Company, Claymont, DE. I will never forget his kindness, big smile and great laugh! I was right out of high school and worked as a clerk in the maintenance department. I was responsible for typing the daily work schedules - he wrote up the schedules for the pipefitters. A "True Gentle - man" Turk told me to stuff a slice of bread in a water pipe to stop a leak long enough so my husband could solder the pipe. Worked like a charm!!! Turk was a kind and true friend. He was instrumental in helping my son Bill become a member of the Pipefitters Union. I am so grateful for that. Turk had many friends at St. James Church. I'm thankful to have been one. My deepest sympathy to his loved ones. Sincerely, Lynne K. Baker
