Guybo was a truly FUN boss at the Orange Avenue pool many summers - I loved working for/with him! My condolences to Karen & his daughters... Eternal rest grant unto him and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his Soul and the Souls of all the faithful departed through the Mercy of GOD rest in peace. Amen.
Guy, I missed seeing you over these last few years. Although older, you always related to your neighbors on Locust Dr. and we were better for it. I think Schreiber and Rutmayer played football on your lawn. But it was the pool and reffing bball I’ll remember u most recently for. Karen God Bless. He was special
Met Guy in 1968. Guy got me interested in becoming a basketball official. We started out doing CYO. Then HS. And eventually I did a little college also. We always tried to work HS games together. We became great friends over the years. After he moved to Delaware we spoke almost every day. We talked basketball, kids, then the grandkids. Tried to get together when he would travel up the Tpke. for a doctors appointment or to watch one of the grandkids. Going to miss my best friend. God needed a great official for a big game. Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed by many.
Guy was one of the top basketball officials in the state of New Jersey. Many officials reaped the rewards of his tutelage. In my case, he encouraged me to pursue an officiating career which lasted 30 years. When you worked a game with Guy, you knew you were working with one of the very best. He had a major impact on my life, and he will sorely missed. I would not be surprised if he was in Heaven right now officiating a game among the angels.😇 Tony Chodan

Guy was my boss at Orange Ave. in the early 80s. In 1985 I lost my dad…Guy knew him from reffing and shared lots of stories (the ones he could) with me! He was protective and tough, but he had such an endearing soft side. My condolences to Karen, Lindsey, Amy and families. I will never forget him…
My sincere and deepest condolences to the Borges family. It is never easy to lose someone you love but live with the thought that you never lose someone you give to God. Guy was a true gentleman, and someone I always enjoyed speaking too. He was a hard-working official and as a coach I always knew I would get his best and an honest game. May he Rest in Peace.
