Gus Balourdos' Obituary
Gus Balourdos, age 83, of Frankford, DE, passed away at his residence Saturday, September 20, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born in Kalamos Island, Greece, son of the late Panagiotis and Lambrini Balourdos.
Mr. Balourdos worked as a Chef his entire life and moved to the US in the middle 60’s from Kalamos Island, Greece, and ultimately opened the Christopher’s Steak and Seafood in Washington, DC. During his retirement he thoroughly enjoyed tending to his garden.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Denise Kefalinou Balourdos; his daughter Lorraine Kokolakis of Ellicott City, MD; sons Pete Balourdos (Je) of Florida and Steven Balourdos of Maryland; grandsons, Nikolas Kokolakis of Ellicott City, MD and Kosta Balourdos of Maryland; and many extended family members in Greece.
All Services will be private.
In lieu of flowers contributions are respectfully requested to be submitted to Saint Andrew the Apostle Orthodox Church, 277 Lakeside Drive, Lewes, DE 19958.
