Dedicated and loving husband, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, Guido E. Villacres passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024, at the age of 72. Born in Quito, Ecuador, Guido was the fourth of five children to Herminia and Read Obituary
Ive known Guido and his family for as long as I can remember. Some 65+ years. Guido and I met at J.F. Oyster elementary school in D.C. We remained close friends throughout the school years, spending a lot of time engaged in sports and exploring nearby Rock Creek Park. After Guido got out of the Navy we picked up where we left off . we shared a love for music and would spend many hours listening to all kinds of different music. ( Thanks for turning me on to Jesse Colin Young). Guido loved photography and would always chronicle our adventures in photos. In 1978 I moved to California. And sometimes many years would pass between our meetings. but it seemed as if no time had passed at all. Never was an unkind word spoken between us. I'm going to miss you Buddy

40 years ago, he and I started working for WHC at the same time. I was young. He was a great gentle guiding force. Pulled me into New Years parties with his family when I was single. Developed my appreciation for art, mean shot on the court kept me honest. Always willing to help (moved me once or twice), loved that SUV of his, (turned me on to Liquid Glass), watched me get married, welcomed in my first born, and encouraged me when it was time to move away. I'll miss our catch ups over the years, but cherish all the memories and stories.

We use to camp out on the Blueridge Parkway up on the Appalacian Trail; he and his Amigo Fernado, had some good times up on the mountain camping out. You did not want to play Chess with Guido, he was really good. Then he met the love of his life, Joyce, they were soul mates. Guido was a kind soul .. You will be missed my friend. I know your Mom needed you up in heaven with her and Carmen. ....So as we would say when we said good bye .. Later

He was my best buddy "amigo" we shared countless hours of mischievous and good times since 1965. I will miss not talking to him about nothing and having fun. I know his is with his mom, sister and all those that went before him….
We always loved Guido's selflessness and sincerity. He was a positive force for giving to others and a great role model for our children and grandchildren.
