Gretchen Christine Haag's Obituary
OBITUARY FOR GRETCHEN HAAG
ANIMAL LOVER
After fighting a heroic battle against cancer, Gretchen passed away at the Milford Hospice on December 11, 2023. She was 78 years old.
Gretchen had a huge heart for animals. For many years, she fed and cared for the abandoned and unwanted cats in downtown Rehoboth. Out of her own pocket and the goodness of her heart, she gave them the milk of human kindness every day regardless of how inclement the weather. She was also an avid contributor to the Georgetown SPCA.
Early in her career, Gretchen moved to California where she studied and learned the intricacies of jewelry making and produced some beautiful pieces. She fell in love with the American southwest and later in life fulfilled her dream of owning a small casita in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
When Gretchen lived in Rehoboth, she was a realtor for many years and a top producer at Jack Lingo Realtor. She served her clients well. She was in sales and rentals and helped many people find the perfect summer vacation home.
Gretchen touched many peoples’ lives and leaves behind many friends. She also leaves behind her beloved husband, Bruce Selman, her loving sister, Christina Haag and brother-in-law James Brennan.
