Grace Gloria Swarzak's Obituary
Grace “Gloria” Swarzak, age 97, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2026, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, following an age-related illness.
Born on June 29, 1928, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Marshall and Grace Robbins. She spent her childhood and early years in Philadelphia and graduated from Kensington High School.
Throughout her life, Gloria was known for her strong work ethic, warm personality, and dedication to serving others. She held a variety of positions over the years, including roles in secretarial work, administration, and retail. In her later years, she brought joy and friendliness to countless customers while working as a coffee attendant at Wawa, a position she truly enjoyed.
Gloria embraced life with enthusiasm and an active spirit. She enjoyed participating in theatrical productions and was involved with Newcomers club, and other civic organizations in Dover Delaware, where she formed many lasting friendships. She also had the honor of serving as a hostess for Delaware Governors Russell Peterson and Sherman Tribbitt, reflecting her gracious nature and love of community involvement.
Gloria enjoyed the Mummers string bands very much, and big band music, as well as local music performances, including her favorite Sol. She also was a NASCAR fan, and her favorite driver was Jeff Gordon. Gloria was a Philadelphia Eagles fan as well. She enjoyed family dinners, and dinner outings with friends and family. Gloria loved her oysters! She loved to get dressed up, and display her jewelry.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Grace Robbins; her former husband, Charles E. Turco; her sister, Diane Willem; and her niece, Diane Taylor.
She is survived by her loving children, R. Alan Moore (Donna), David Moore (Kim), and Constance "Connie" L. Honorowski Hunt; her cherished grandchildren, Rhen Hunt (Adriana) and Ryan Hunt; her treasured great-grandchildren, Hailey and Jaylese; and her beloved niece, Mary Durst.
Gloria will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, independence, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her vibrant spirit touched many lives, and her memory will continue to bring comfort and inspiration to all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, Delaware. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 am.
