Grace Marie Schoffstall's Obituary
Grace Marie Schoffstall, 96 of Lewes, DE passed away Sunday, October, 24, 2021, at The Moorings, Lewes. She was born on March 11, 1925, in Tamaqua, PA, daughter of the late Paul Edwin and Anna Marie (Quick) Blew.
Mrs. Schoffstall was a homemaker and supporter of her late husband of 69 1/2 years, Luther Schoffstall who passed in 2016. Together they owned Schoffstall Ceramic Tile in Sunbury, PA. After retiring, they moved to Lewes, DE where they shared many happy years. Being a wife of World War II Navy Veteran, Mrs. Schoffstall held a high degree of patriotism.
Family was most important in the Schoffstall home and she adored little children and celebrated each new birth. Four generations have traditionally celebrated weddings on August 6th (or close to August 6th), and were always considered an immense joy for Mrs. Schoffstall. She was a strong advocate of education, and always supported her children and grandchildren with their educational endeavors. Mrs. Schoffstall led her life from lyrics of "The Bluebird of Happiness," Rest in peace, Bluebird. Love you, ALWAYS.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Schoffstall was preceded in death by a son-in-law, James Gruver; She is survived by her children: Susan Gruver, Rev. Paul Schoffstall and his wife Sally, Cindy Martin and her husband Donald, and Kay Poliska and her husband George; her 8 grandchildren; her 22 great-grandchildren; and her 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial with take place privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
