Grace M. Hastings' Obituary
Grace M. Hastings age 88 of Bridgeville, DE died Tuesday Feb. 14, 2006 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, DE. She was born on January 19, 1918 in New Haven, Connecticut the daughter of the late Flora Matthews & Roland J. Wingate of Delaware.
Mrs. Hastings was a leader of the Dublin Hill 4H Club of Bridgeville and the Sussex County 4H Links. She was a life member of the Atlanta Club Homemakers; the Nanticoke Sr. Center of Seaford the Red Hat Society of Seaford & AARP of Seaford where she enjoyed many hours of her time. She often traveled with her auctioneer husband, John R. helping him with his sales. Mrs. Hastings was also a member of Trinity Dublin Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Hastings moved to Delaware in l934 and graduated from Laurel High School in l936. She then married Jonathan R. Hastings in l937.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years Jonathan Robert Hastings, son Jack Hastings & wife Rosalie of Bridgeville, DE; a daughter Joanne Lord & husband Robert of Linden, TN; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 6-8PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. where f uneral services will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 2PM. Friends may also call one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Bridgeville Cemetery, Bridgeville, DE.
