Gordon T. Rossiter's Obituary
Gordon Thompson "Beau" Rossiter, Sr., age 89, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2025, in Milford, Delaware. Born on March 15, 1936, in Wilmington, Delaware, he lived a full and meaningful life marked by dedication to family, service to his country, and a passion for the outdoors.
Beau proudly served in the United States Air Force, embodying a spirit of duty and commitment that would carry through every chapter of his life. Following his military service, he became the owner of Thermal Energy, Inc., where he worked diligently until his retirement in 1992. His leadership and work ethic left a lasting impression on those who knew him professionally.
Family was at the heart of Beau’s world. He was a devoted father to Debbie Morrison (Tim), Tracy Rossiter (John), Kelly Rossiter (Steve), and Gordon Rossiter, Jr. (Pam), as well as a caring stepfather to Donald Spinden. He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, finding joy in their laughter and milestones. He is survived by grandchildren Maria Hartmeyer (Philip), Timothy Morrison, Jr., Rocky Donovan (Victoria), and Stephen Smith. He also embraced step grandchildren, JD and Robbie. His great-grandchildren: Alyson, Teagan, Riley, and Eliza brough renewed joy to his life. His grandchildren in love, Za'kai and Eli were so loved from afar.
In addition to the family he created, he is survived by brother Harry Rossiter (Barbara) and 2 sisters, Penny Coyle and Maxine Rossiter, and a great deal of nieces and nephews.
Beau was preceded in death by his beloved wife Patricia Rossiter; his parents Harry and Idabelle Rossiter; and his sister Judith Rossiter. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.
In retirement, Beau embraced the things he loved most—fishing along quiet shores, boating under open skies, traveling to new places, and sharing stories with family. These simple pleasures brought him peace and fulfillment.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Delaware Hospice in Milford who cared for him in the last days of his life.
