Gloria Mannion's Obituary
Gloria L. Mannion, age 70 of Lewes, DE and Baltimore County, MD, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 peacefully and surrounded by family and friends at her home. She was born Gloria Lee Parks, daughter of the late Frederick John Parks and Dorthy Mildred (Aull) Parks.
Gloria was a graduate of Overlea Senior High School and Essex Community College. She worked for Black and Decker in Towson, MD for 44 years in several different positions before her retirement in September of 2011. She was such a special woman, and she touched so many hearts with her brilliant light. Her enthusiasm was refreshing, and her energy was contagious. Gloria loved her flowers and tending her beautiful garden at her home in Lewes. She also loved to entertain her friends during the summer holiday weekends and participate in the Doo-Dah Parade on one of her favorite holidays, the Fourth of July. Putting others before herself, she collected friends over the years with her beautiful smile and positive personality.
Gloria is survived by her husband of 33 years, Tom Hess; her father-in-law, Thomas Hess, Sr.; her brothes-in-law: James Hess and Nicholas Hess (Jennifer); her niece, Emma; and her several cousins and many friends.
A Celebration of Life and private burial will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Delaware Hospice and the many friends who gave their time and love to care for Gloria.
