Gloria Irene Brandon's Obituary
Gloria Irene (Kovacs) Brandon passed away suddenly on May 23, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware.
Born on June 9, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Alice Kovacs, Gloria spent her early years in Chicago and went on to earn an associate’s degree in nursing. She married Michael Edward Brandon on October 1, 1966, in Las Vegas, Nevada. After settling in Delaware, Gloria devoted the majority of her career to caring for children as a nurse at A.I. duPont Hospital.
Gloria’s joys in life included thrifting for hidden treasures, working on puzzles, sharing breakfast outings with her daughter, Christine, and all things Disney.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Christine (and her husband, John Cooper); her beloved granddaughters, Jessica and Maddie Cooper and her brothers, Gilbert (and his wife, Rosemary) and Gary Kovacs. She is also survived by family not by blood but by love: the Booher girls. In addition to her parents, Gloria was predeceased by her husband, Michael Edward Brandon; her son, Michael Joseph Brandon Jr.; and her brother, George.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 am, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Clarksville Chapel, 34874 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean View, DE, where family and friends may visit from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Burial will be held privately.
