Glenn H. Hawkins' Obituary
Glenn H. Hawkins, age 74 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at his home. He was born on July 10, 1946 in New York, NY, son of the late Harold and Louise Hawkins.
Mr. Hawkins was a graduate of Bok Technical High School in Philadelphia, PA, and a proud veteran of the US Air Force. Following his service to country, he built a career in law enforcement, retiring from the Philadelphia Police Department after 30 dedicated years. Mr. Hawkins loved the outdoors and spent every opportunity fishing, golfing, and gardening. A natural handyman, he enjoyed home repairs and remodeling. Mr. Hawkins was also an avid collector of Hess Trucks and acquired an impressive selection over the years. Above all, Mr. Hawkins cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hawkins was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hawkins. He is survived by his children: Kim Dolt (Richard) of Martinsburg, VA, Amy Johnson (David), and Paul Smargessi (Heather) of Bensalem, PA; his grandchildren: Jackie Barahona (Virgil), Tessa, Lydia, Annika, Archer, Sterling, Logan, and Sophia; his sisters: Jeannette Byrd and Doris Passamonti; his niece, Leanne; and his nephews: David and Greg.
