Gilbert C. Laureigh's Obituary
Gilbert C. Laureigh, age 79 of Milton, DE passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017, at Delaware Hospice Center. He was born on Sunday, May 09, 1937 in East Orange, NJ, son of the late Arthur and Ethel (Williams)Laureigh.
Mr. Laureigh had a lifelong career as a pipefitter with Local #9 in New Jersey. He belonged to St. Edmond's Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of Star of the Sea Knights of Columbus. A proud US Army Veteran, he was also a member of American Legion Post 5 in Rehoboth Beach. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of animals who adored his pets, but more than anything he cherished time spent with his family. He was a caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and he will be greatly missed.
Mr. Laureigh is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Joan (Zmijewski); his sons: Larry Laureigh of NJ, and Craig Allen Laureigh and his wife Lorraine, of NJ; his daughters: Linda Ann Poor and her husband Michael, of FL, and Jennifer Joan Johnson and her husband Harry, of DE; his brother, Walter Laureigh and his wife Sue, of NJ; and seven grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at 11:00 AM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue , Rehoboth Beach, DE. A Viewing will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Laureigh's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
