Gilbert G. Bradham's Obituary
Gilbert G. Bradham, age 90, of Seaford, DE, passed away after a brief illness, on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Silver, SC, on Thursday, August 6, 1925, son of the late Marion and Sallie (Gardner) Bradham.
Mr. Bradham served in World War II, The Korean War, and the Berlin Build-up, receiving the Purple Heart for injuries during WWII in the European theater. Mr. Bradham retired from the United States Airforce Reserve in 1985 with the rank of Captain. He retired from Trans World Airlines in 1985 after serving more than 32 years and accruing more than 20000 hours of flight in numerous aircraft including the Lockheed Constellation, Douglas DC-9, many models of Boeing 707, 727, and finally the Boeing 747.
Mr. Bradham is a life member of The Reserve Officers Assn, Disabled American Veterans Assn, The Military Order of the Purple Heart, The American Legion, The 84th Infantry Railsplitters Assn, and The Burtonwood Assn.
Mr. Bradham believed steadfastly in our God of Heaven and the resurrection of his son, Jesus Christ.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bradham is preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey, in 1980. He is survived by a son, Paul; three grand-daughters, Casey, Christina and Olivia; a sister, Betty Rahn; and a brother, Julian Bradham; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members. He leaves behind all those who loved him including his longtime friend Carolyn Kolcz.
A Memorial Service will be held at the North Trenholm Baptist Church in Columbia, 6515 N Trenholm Rd, Columbia, SC 29206, on April 28, 2016, at 10:00 AM.
