Geraldine M. Gallagher, aged 77, of Bridgeville, Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born on August 27, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Gerard Hession.
Geraldine married the love of her life, Dennis W. Gallagher, at St. Anselm’s Roman Catholic Church in Brooklyn, NY. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant, a role she filled with dedication and care.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Geraldine was an active member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Seaford, DE, where she served as both a Eucharistic Minister and a Pastoral Care Minister. She devoted countless hours ministering to the homebound and to residents of Lofland Park Center in Seaford, sharing her warmth, faith, and kindness with all she met. Geraldine’s greatest joy was spending time with her family — her beloved husband, children, and grandchildren — who were the center of her world.
Geraldine was predeceased by her parents, Gerard and Mary Hession; her brother, Jack Fitzgerald; sisters-in-law Beatrice Dillon and Joyce Gallagher; and her father- and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Gallagher.
Geraldine is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis W. Gallagher of Bridgeville, DE; her children, Charlene Kaznosky of Howell, NJ; Dennis J. Gallagher (Tara) of Aberdeen, NJ; and Timothy Gallagher (Mallory) of Howell, NJ ; and her cherished grandchildren, Keilen Kaznosky of Howell, NJ, and Shane and Shayla Gallagher of Aberdeen, NJ. She is also survived by her sisters, Marion McVay (Russ) of California and Evelyn Carbone (Steve) of New Jersey; her sister-in-law, Carol Fitzgerald; brothers-in-law, John Gallagher and Tom Dillon; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Geraldine will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her love, faith, and gentle spirit will remain forever in the hearts of those she touched.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E. Stein Hwy, Seaford, DE 19973, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 528 E. Stein Highway, Seaford, DE 19973, in Geraldine’s memory.
