Gerald Walter Whitcomb "Jerry"'s Obituary
Gerald Walter Whitcomb, age 67 of Lewes, passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Beebe Health Care. Jerry, as he was affectionately known by his friends, was born in Lewes, son of the late Wilbur Stumple Whitcomb and Geraldine Bernice Plummer Whitcomb. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son Adam and a brother Billy.
Jerry began his working career with Beebe Medical Center in 1998 and was still working at the time of his passing as a Plant Engineer. He was a former member of the Lewes Vol. Fire Department, Inc., having served for over 10 years.
In his spare time, Jerry thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, NASCAR, and sports; especially the Eagles and Cape Henlopen High School Football.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Whitcomb (Chris) of Decatur, Illinois; two sons: Daniel Whitcomb of Felton, DE and Jeffrey Whitcomb of Lewes; two grandchildren: Zoey and Hazel; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Viewing will also be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
