Georgianna Cranfield's Obituary
Georgianna Cranfield, age 83, of Seaford, DE passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. She was born in Blades, DE on April 19, 1931, daughter of the late John and Katherine (DeShazio) Green.
She was a lifelong resident of Seaford and loved volunteering wherever she was needed. Mrs. Cranfield enjoyed cooking for events at the American Legion or VFW in Seaford. She was an avid bowler for 50+ years and was especially fond of the friendships she developed with her league bowlers at Seaford Lanes. Mrs. Cranfield loved bird watching and feeding the various birds who would visit her yard. Mrs. Cranfield was an avid NASCAR fan who also enjoyed watching the San Francisco 49'ers and rooting them to victory. She will be remembered most for her terrific sense of humor and her simple and kind outlook to life. Mrs. Cranfield was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cranfield was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Morris, Sr. in 1952, her second husband Donald E. Cranfield in 2013 and her son Melvin Morris, Jr. She is survived by her son, Frank Morris and his wife Judy of Seaford, DE; her daughter, Kim Fischer and her husband Rick of Lewes; DE, seven grandchildren, Andy Morris and his wife Lana, Danny Morris, David Allen and his wife Leda, Melvin Morris III and his wife Sallie, Richard Fischer, Jr., Margaux Azzanesi and her husband Steve, Elizabeth Zarzarvadjian and her husband Romain; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, John Green, Jr. and his wife Joyce of Seaford, DE and her three grand dogs whom she absolutely adored, Te'a, Quincie and Murphy.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2014 at 11 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10 AM. Interment will immediately follow services in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, P. O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
