George W. Fisher's Obituary
George W. Fisher, age 60, of Laurel, DE, formerly of Nassau, DE passed away suddenly on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, MD. Born on November 18, 1949, he was the son of the late Earl Bryan and Bertha Mae (Hartman) Fisher. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann (Lutkavage) Fisher who passed away on November 21, 1991.
George held an associates degree in General Business and one in Applied Sciences Business Administration. He loved to read and study history and various religions. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Harrington.
George was very involved with Delaware Technical and Community College of Georgetown. In addition to working in the Shipping and Receiving Department, he was an alumni of Phi Theta Kappa; an on-site coordinator for the elder hostel; a senator for the College Council; and a host for the Del Tech Adult+ Program.
George is survived by one son, David M. Fisher and his wife Samantha of Milton, DE; one daughter, Lynn Rodriquez and her husband Andrew of Georgetown, DE; fiancee Deborah Walker of Laurel; one brother, Earl Bryan Fisher, Jr., of Lewes; and four grandchildren: Bryant S. and twin Ethan T. Fisher and Christa and Jayden Rodriquez.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Family will greet friends at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow in Bethel Methodist Cemetery, Lewes.
