George J. Danforth's Obituary
George J. Danforth, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. He was born June 22, 1919 in Youngstown, OH, son of the late Charles Warren and Eliza (Bowditch) Danforth.
He had been self-employed as a Metalurgist. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Fernanda (Mignini) Danforth; a daughter, Elena Ake and her husband Douglas of Ocean City, MD; a son, William G. Danforth of Rehoboth Beach; two granddaughters, Dr. Jennifer Ake of Fairfax, VA and Christina Harrison and her husband Hale of Ocean City, MD.
A Prayer Service will be held Wednesday, July 12, 10 AM, at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, DE with the Rev. Raymond Forrester officiating. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Rt. 26, Dagsboro, DE. Friends may call on Tuesday, July 11, 6-8 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
