George Edward Clenney Jr.'s Obituary
George Edward Clenney II, age 76 of Milton, DE, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at his home. He was born on August 30, 1943 in Montgomery, AL, son of the late George E. Clenney and Ann (Crow) Batty.
Mr. Clenney was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Army. He enjoyed careers in banking, as a professional golfer, and as a golf pro. Mr. Clenney loved his church, boating, travel, and music. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Clenney is survived by his daughters: Tracy Clenney Wolff (Joseph) of Charlotte Hall, MD and Anny Clenney of Arlington, VA; his grandchildren: Spencer Wolff, Shelby Wolff, and Lilly Wolff, all of Charlotte Hall, MD and Arden Clenney of Arlington, VA; and his brothers and sisters: Carol Camille Henderson of Myrtle Beach, SC, Avery Clenney of Birmingham, AL, Ann E. Clenney of Centerville, VA, David T. Clenney of Alexandria, VA, Mary E. Bass of Montgomery, AL, and Ruth E. McCarthy of Centerville, VA.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Clenney's memory to Save the Children, 501 Kings Highway East, Suite 400, Fairfield, CT 06825.
