Of the many memories I have of George, I will share one of the first, which I ALWAYS enjoyed along with my mother, Stelle Foley Norris, and her sister, my Auntie Thelma Foley Smith, George's mother-in-law.
George had perfected a "trick trip". George's timing was so good, that no matter how many times you saw it before, you always gasped, thinking for sure he was going to fall. The gasp was immediately followed by laughter. Another occasion of perfect timing by George!
Along with his many other wonderful traits, George generously shared his sense of humor and will be well remembered for it.
I commented recently that Therese was his best audience.
I am enjoying, again, the memories of my mother and Auntie Thelma's smiling faces as they enjoyed George's sense of humor, especially "The Trip"! They, too, were a great audience for George.
George's appeal was ageless. I was 9 years old when he and Therese started dated. I enjoyed him then and ever since!!!
Rest in peace, Therese and George!
Love, Mary Frances Norris Garrity
What a happy beautiful man we will all miss. So broken hearted for you all. Keeping you all in our thought n prayers. Will miss his bear hugs ❤️❤️❤️
George was a really good guy. Easy to be around and always ready with a story and, hopefully, a beer. Cherish the memories and lean on the support of family and friends as you adjust to a new reality.
