George Brainard Carroll's Obituary
George Brainard Carroll, Jr., age 82, of Dover, DE passed away on Saturday January 24, 2009 at Cadbury at Lewes. Mr, Carroll, a long time resident of Dover, was born in Middletown, DE, on July 11,1926. He is the eldest son of the late George Brainard Carroll, Sr. and Elizabeth Johnston Carroll of Dover, DE; brother of the late Crawford J. Carroll of Dover and the late Joseph A, Carroll of Easton MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE.
After graduating from Dover High School in 1944, Mr. Carroll served in the United States Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. Mr. Carroll was the owner of B. Carroll & Sons. Inc., an International Farm Equipment Dealership in Dover. He retired in 1985. An avid hunter and trap shooter, Mr. Carroll was a life member of the National Amateur Trapshooting Association, a member of the Delaware ATA Association holding several offices, and a member of the Advisory Board of the Delaware ATA Hall of Fame for Trapshooting. Being inducted into the Trapshooting Hall of Fame was one of Mr. Carroll's greatest honors. He enjoyed collecting stamps and had an extensive stamp collection.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife Anna Luff Carroll; his three daughters Patricia Beebe and husband Richard, Susan Bryan and Theresa Garcia and husband Rutilio; seven grandchildren, Chris and Patrick Beebe, Heather and Andrew Bryan, and RG, Richard and Ryan Garcia; five great-grandchildren, Myranda Beebe, Dylan Beebe, Andrew Bryan, Emily Cust and Ashley Garcia.
