Geneva E. Frye's Obituary
Geneva Rosa Lee Evans Frye, age 100 of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, August 23, 2021, at her home in Lewes, with one of her granddaughters by her side. She was born in Cedartown, GA, daughter of late Rev. John D. and Annie Gertrude Powell Evans.
Mrs. Frye worked for the Federal Government in Washington, DC, retiring in the late 60s after 15 dedicated years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, embroidery, sewing, baking, going to the beach, and playing cards with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Frye was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, was very involved in the Women of the Moose, and held positions as Secretary/Treasurer, Recorder, and Senior Regent in the Colonial Beach, VA and Lewes, DE Chapters. Most of all, she loved her family. She loved each and every one of her grandchildren in a very special way, each holding a special place in her heart.
Mrs. Frye was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Warren E. Frye of Lewes, DE; her daughter Geneva "Arline" Frye Collins and her son-in-law, Everett I. Collins, Sr. of King George, VA.; her granddaughter, Maria A. Collins Woolridge of King George, VA; and her grandson, Everett I. Collins, Jr. of Berryville, VA. She is survived by her granddaughters: Bonnie Haygood Anderson of Lewes, DE, J.B. Norman of Millsboro, DE, and Katie Williams of Springfield, VA; her grandsons: Belvie C. Haygood, III of Allentown, PA, Marcus J. Powell of Forest Park, GA, and James "Tame" Collins of VA; her great-granddaughters: Romany R. Evans of Lewes, DE, Brittany Marks of Millsboro, DE, Kelsey Marks of Milton, DE, Jayme Marks of Millsboro, DE, Taylor Burton of Long Neck, DE, and Jessica Williams of California; her great-grandsons: Peter N. Minetree, II of Lewes, DE, Lewis E. Clements, Jr. of New Market, VA, Phil Norman, Jr. of Newark, DE, David Williams of Leesburg, VA, and Thomas Woolridge of Richmond, VA; her great-great-grandsons: Isaac Evans-Godwin of Lewes, DE, Josiah Jones of Dover, DE, Michael Davis, Jr. aka "Bam", Skyler Story, Holden Lagano of Millsboro, DE, and Millou Garcia of Georgetown, DE; Kylie Marks of Millsboro, DE, Kayiah Clements, Milenah Clements and Sianah Clements, all of New Market, VA; Jackson Norman, and Ava Norman of Newark, DE, Zidan Williams, of Leesburg, VA, Noah Woolridge of Richmond, VA; her grandsons-in-law, Henry Marks of Millsboro, DE and Roger Williams of Springfield, VA; her great-grandson-in-law, John Burton of Long Neck, DE; her great-granddaughters-in-law, Denae Clements of New Market, VA, Nicole Norman of Newark, DE, Yumma Williams of Leesburg, VA; Kristin Wasilewski, mother of Noah, of Richmond, VA; her several nieces and nephews; and her adopted family: Allie, Brooklyn, Kennedy, Janie, Paula, Al, Teressa, Ralph, Jeffrey and Roger. You all were heaven sent, and I want each and every one of you to know that Nanny loved you all so very much. She held a special place in her heart for you all.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at 11:00 AM, at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, masks must be worn and social distancing must be observed by any and all persons participating in any aspect of the services.
