Gene L. Crim's Obituary
Gene Lamar Crim, age 90 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017, at Delaware Veterans Home, in Milford, DE after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was born Tuesday, November 30, 1926 in Washington, DC, son of the late Gilbert and Katherine (Frebert) Crim.
Mr. Crim earned a Bachelor's Degree from Virginia Tech and a Master's Degree from Strayer University. He was a proud US Navy Veteran, having served during World War II. Following his military service, he forged a lifelong career working for the National Security Agency. Mr. Crim was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing at every opportunity. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, and dear friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Crim was preceded in death by his sisters: Betty Fleming and Joan Martin. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Nancy (Underwood) Crim; his children: Allen, Lisa, and Bill; his grandchildren: Jordan, Sean, Matthew, Jennifer, Russell, and Allison; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Bethel United Methodist Church, 129 West 4th Street; Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Intement will follow at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way; Millsboro, DE.
