Gary Arthur Kesteven's Obituary
Gary Arthur Kesteven, age 82 of Lewes, DE, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 14, 2020. He was born on November 30, 1937 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Arthur and Dorothy Mae Kesteven.
Gary graduated from Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD, Class of 1956. He met the love of his life, Nancy, on a blind date and married on June 18, 1960. Inseparable, theirs was a strong and unwavering love, and together they created a beautiful family. His family was his greatest and proudest accomplishment, aside from his 1934 Plymouth Coupe HotRod.
Gary built a 45 year career as an automotive mechanic and learned early on that his passion in life was working on and restoring cars. He was known to be able to fix anything (except a broken heart), and was generous with his time and talents, helping friends and family without hesitation.
Gary cherished time spent with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gary is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Nancy Kesteven of Lewes, DE; his sons: Brett Kesteven (Carmen) of Brunswick, MD, Patrick Kesteven of Thurmont, MD, and Arthur Kesteven of Lewes, DE; his grandchildren: Thomas Kesteven, Rhael Laramy, Nicole Moon, Brittany Kesteven, Riane King, and Juliana Kesteven; his great-grandchildren: Ariella, Everett, Maddox, and Micah, and his sister, Wendy C. Hershey of Las Vegas, NV.
Services will be held privately at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Gary's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
