I was always at your house growing up and Fred was always patient, kind and funny. Looking back, I am very grateful for the male role model he provided for me. One time he was in the kitchen stirring a large pot and I asked him what he was cooking. He said deer stew. I said I didn't believe he'd want to eat a deer. He said he was telling me the truth and he even had the eyeballs floating in there and I could come over and look. Needless to say, I went home for dinner that night. I also remember your dad taking Denay and me fishing with him. He was probably sorry right away because he had to put the worms on our hooks because we were too grossed out to do it. He eventually let us quit fishing and explore the creekside. Your parents were always very good to me. I even remember going on vacation with you guys. Virginia Beach was the first time i ever ate shrimp. Your mom encouraged me to try it and I'm glad she did. I have many good memories of both of them and I will always love all of you.
