Frederick "Richard" R. Rohrer's Obituary
Frederick "Richard" Rohrer, age 76, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. He was born on February 14, 1939 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Frederick Carnes and Mary Wallace (Gunter) Rohrer.
Mr. Rohrer embarked on a lifelong career in the auto parts industry. For many years, he managed the Liberty Auto Supply store in Baltimore, MD and later the Action Auto Supply store in Rosedale, MD from which he retired in 2000. He was well remembered by many of his co-workers.
Mr. Rohrer was a family man whose ultimate purpose in life was to be an amazing husband to his wife, Elaine, who he adored. He was a loving father who loved joking with his daughters and having fun with them. He enjoyed helping them and taking them on trips especially to the beach. He always had a dry sense of humor which he continued to share with his beloved grandchildren who were the apple of his eye.
Mr. Rohrer's enjoyments in life were spending time collecting model trains sets and designing a train garden that he thoroughly enjoyed sharing with family and friends. He was an avid fan of the "old" Baltimore Colts and he went to many of their games throughout his youth. He loved going to the beach and traveling especially to Florida, taking his grandchildren to Disney World and recently taking bus trips to Cape Code, MA.
Mr. Rohrer is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Elaine R. (Frantz) Rohrer of Rehoboth Beach, DE; two daughters: Sandra Rohrer Scheeler and her husband Douglas of Baltimore, MD and Julie Ann Rohrer Phillips and her husband Frederick, II of Joppa, MD; seven grandchildren: Matthew, David, Stephen, Rachel, Emily, Olivia, and Frederick, III "Trey"; a sister, Linda Rohrer of Rehoboth Beach, DE; and his beloved Yorkiepoo babies, Elvis and Pepper.
A Celebration of Mr. Rohrer's Life will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 12 PM, at St. Michael Lutheran Church Chapel, 9534 Belair Road, Perry Hall, MD 21236. Interment will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Rohrer's memory to the American Heart Association, 200 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713.
