Frederick A. Amendola's Obituary
Frederick (Fred) A. Amendola, age 68 of Lititz, PA, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with heart disease, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, in Rehoboth Beach, DE. He was born May 31, 1949 in Niagara Falls, NY, son of the late Alphonse and Evelyn (Ripple) Amendola.
Fred graduated from Bishop Duffy in Niagara Falls, NY, class of 1967. He attended the University of Buffalo where he received his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He most recently worked as a project manager at R.R. Donnelley in Lancaster, PA for 19 years.
Fred was known for being a talented, performing musician on his guitar and pedal steel guitar, having performed in Western New York, Nashville, Virginia, and all over the Lancaster, PA area. Fred enjoyed mentoring many musicians, as well as publishing transcriptions for well-known musicians.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Lynn (Rannalli) Amendola of Lititz, PA; his daughter, Sarah Amendola of Martinsburg, WV; his sister, Christine (Amendola) Ingram of Somerset, NJ; his cousins: John Amendola and wife Judy of Las Vegas, NV, and Barbara Holka; and other family members of Niagara Falls, NY and Hazleton, PA.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301. Interment will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY.
