Fred Walter Strausbaugh's Obituary
Fred Walter Strausbaugh, age 66, of Milton, DE, died Thursday, June 11, 2009, at Bayhealth Center-Milford, DE He was born in York, PA son of the late Clair Leveane Strausbaugh and Myrtle Marie Sheffer Strausbaugh. During his career he was self employed as a Detailer of Steel Structures. Mr. Strausbaugh had served in the Army National Guard of Pennsylvania. He had recently joined the American Legion Post 17, Lewes, DE. He and his wife moved to Sussex County in 1999 from York, PA after many years of vacationing in the area. He loved fishing and the running of his boat REEL MADDNESS out of Lewes Harbor and also enjoyed NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Brenda Louise Raffensberger Strausbaugh whom he married on July 2, 1966 at St. James Lutheran Church, York, PA; one son, Aaron J. Strausbaugh of Milton, DE; sister-in-law Belinda Raffensberger Wilson of Georgetown, DE, whom he raised from a young age as his own; nephew Greg Strausbaugh, and two nieces Sue McGlaughin, and Cheri Coleman. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Eugene Strausbaugh.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday June 16, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be announced at a later date.
