Franklin "Frank" Turner Hepner's Obituary
Franklin Turner Hepner, affectionately known as "Frank" or "Hep", age 96, of Georgetown, DE, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2019, at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, DE. He was born in Mt. Clifton, VA, on February 20, 1923, son of the late Robert and Hattie Hepner.
Mr. Hepner was a proud World War II Army Veteran, receiving a Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his honorable service. He made his career with the Government working in HEW Transportation. In his spare time, Mr. Hepner enjoyed country music, playing golf, the guitar, poker, and going to the casino.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Hepner was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Hepner. He is survived by one son, Richard G. Hepner and his wife Norma Jean and son, Doug Miller; 11 nieces and nephews; and many grand and great nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2019, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium-Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow services at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Hepner's name to the Purple Heart Foundation 7008 Little River Turnpike, Annandale, VA 22003 or by visiting their website at www.purpleheartfoundation.org
