Franklin Cordrey's Obituary
Franklin Lloyd Cordrey, age 67, of Lewes, DE died Friday, November 11, 2005, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. Mr. Cordrey was born October 21, 1938, son of the late Walter and Audrey Cordrey. He had been employed by the Department of Corrections in Georgetown, DE for 26 years, retiring from there in 1987. He then owned and operated Cordrey Cabinet and Welding, Inc. in Angola, DE from 1988 until 2004. He was a master wood worker. Mr. Cordrey was a member of the Cheer Center and the Asbury United Methodist Chruch, both of Georgetown, DE. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Mr. Cordrey is survived by his wife Hazel (Johnson) Cordrey; two daughters, Tabatha Montgomery of Selbyville, DE and Crystal Cordrey address unknown; an adopted son, Carl Day of Georgetown, DE; a grandson Lane Montgomery of Selbyville; a step-daughter Lin Brown of Georgetown; and two step-sons, Alton Edward Joseph of Harbeson, DE and David Lee Joseph of Millsboro, DE. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Katherine Lynn Cordrey.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes where funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 16, 2005 with Rev. Marie Nordberg officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 to 2 P.M. Interment will follow in Conley's Chapel Cemetery, Angola, DE. Flowers will be accepted.
