Frank J. Schembri's Obituary
Frank J. Schembri, age 85, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Bowie, MD, passed away at Brandywine Senior Living with his wife and true love Joan L. Schembri and his loving daughter, Lesley Chrisner by his side. Frank was born December 16, 1930 in Oneida, NY.
Mr. Schembri served in the United States Air Force and was stationed in London during the Korean War where he met his true love, Joan. Upon returning to the United States, he sent for his bride, Joan L. Schembri where they had a beautiful marriage of 63 years. Mr. Schembri went on to have a successful career as a civil servant with the Air Force in logistics. He retired from the Pentagon in May, 1978. Upon retirement he worked at a bank and H & R Block. He loved interacting with the public and was great with numbers.
Mr. Schembri had another passion, golf. He played for many years at the Bowie Golf Course. He traveled to a wide variety of golf courses, as well as his yearly trip to Myrtle Beach. For 35 years he loved playing golf with his son-in-law, Ronald Chrisner. It also gave Frank great pleasure to play with Phil McClellan, the husband of his loving granddaughter, Kathy.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters: Francis, Teddy and Josephine and one brother, Sam.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan L. Schembri, loving daughter, Lesley Chrisner of Millsboro, DE, son-in-law, Ron Chrisner of Millsboro, DE; three beautiful granddaughters Kathy (Chrisner) McClellan of Huntingtown, MD, Lauren Chrisner of Fairfax, VA, Beth Chrisner of Annapolis, MD; two beautiful great-grandchildren, Corey McClellan and Lena McClellan.
