Frank J. Perunko's Obituary
Frank J. Perunko was born March 2, 1909 in Echo, Ohio, the seventh son of nine children of Charles and Susan Perunko. He was raised on a farm in Neffs, Ohio and graduated from Bellaire, Ohio High School. In 1932 he married his lifelong partner Annabelle Shuttic of Warren, Ohio. He worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 33 years, retiring in 1973. Besides working at Sears he worked at Ohio Corrugated Barrel Company, where he helped organize the first labor union. He was also the owner of Nimisila Lanes in Manchester, Ohio.
He was a semi-pro baseball player in his youth and an avid bowler and golfer into his nineties. Mr. Perunko was a member of BP0 Elks for 55 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant at St. Jude The Apostle RC Church in Lewes, DE.
In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by a daughter Dorothy and her husband John Crano, and grandson Michael Gilbow.
He is survived by a daughter Patricia Gilbow and husband Tom of Akron, OH; Mary Walters of Milford, DE; son Paul Perunko and wife Nancy of Hebron, MD; a brother Emil Perunko of Warren, Ohio; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be announced at a later date. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Courtland, Ohio.
