Frank S. Matricciano's Obituary
Frank S. Matricciano, age 92, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Philadelphia, PA and Cape May, NJ, passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach. Mr. Matricciano was born December 30, 1916 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Michael Matricciano, Sr. and the late Maria (DeMaria) Matricciano.
Mr. Matricciano enjoyed a long career as a welder with the Philadelphia Navy Yard retiring in 1974. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed finding a solution to every problem. He was an avid fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. He was a member of the National Association of Active and Retired Federal Employees. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served his country during World War II. He was a member of St. Edmond's Catholic Church.
He was predeceased by his wife Rose M. (DeFeo) Matricciano (2007); his brother Victor Matricciano; and his sister, Anna Brattini. He is survived by two daughters, Joyce M. Blakeslee and her husband James of Rehoboth Beach and Francine A. Peschel and her husband Reid of The Villages, FL; two grandchildren, Krista Goff and her husband Joshua and Jimmy Blakeslee, all of Northern VA; and one brother Michael Matricciano, Jr. of Somerdale, NJ.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2009, 2:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 1:30 PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Philadelphia followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or to The Gull House, 38149 Terrace Road, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
