Frank D. Goushas' Obituary
Frank D. Goushas, a retired Human Resources Executive/ Consultant, passed away on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the age of 93. Frank attended primary and secondary schools in Chicago, IL.
After high school, he completed two years of engineering studies at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. Frank interrupted his collegiate studies to serve in the US Army during the Korean conflict attaining the rank of 1st LT in the Corps of Engineers. He married Christine T. O' Malley, a civil service employee on the Island of Okinawa in 1951. They returned to the US in December 1952. In 1953, they returned to Purdue University where Frank completed his studies and earned a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1954. He started his career with General Electric serving in several HR specialist/managerial positions in the company’s businesses located in Pittsfield, MA; Evendale, OH; Fort Wayne, IN; Philadelphia, PA; and, Syracuse, NY. After twenty-two years with GE, he joined E-Systems Corp. in Dallas, TX as the Corporate Director of Human Resources and Manpower Development. Frank completed his work career as President of his own Human Resources Management Consulting firm.
Christine and Frank retired to the Sun Cities area of Phoenix, AZ. In 1995, Christine passed away from surgical complications. They had a long and happy marriage for forty-four years. They adopted two children David and Kathleen. Both children passed away in their 60th year of life.
Frank remarried in 1997 to Betty (Methvin) Daly Goushas. They were happily together for twenty plus years. After living in the Phoenix area for several years, they returned to the East Coast settling in Trumbull, CT. In 2012, Betty and Frank relocated to Lewes, DE.
In 2017, Betty succumbed to serious illness and passed away. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Lisa Goushas of Arvada, CO. Frank is survived by his stepdaughter, Linda Clearwater; and his two step granddaughters: Genevieve Meshil of California, and Danielle Hunter of Connecticut; Frank and his late wife Christine had five grandchildren: Justin Goushas (wife Tara) of Washington, DC; Mark (wife Michele) and Brendan Hoxie of Syracuse, NY; and Adam Goushas of Ada, OK; . Additionally, Frank had two great-grandchildren: Walter, and Victor Hoxie. During his lifetime, he was blessed with friendship and love from numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many life-time friends.
Interment is private and there are no calling hours.
