Francis W. Meier, Jr.'s Obituary
Francis W. Meier Jr., age 79, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. He was born on February 16, 1939 in Linwood, NJ, son of the late Francis W Meier, Sr. and Jean A (Buckley) Meier.
Known to friends and family as Frank or Bud, he retired from Philadelphia Electric and resided in Brookhaven PA since 1960. He and his high school love moved to Rehoboth Beach 15 years ago to enjoy life at the beach. He loved to fish and appreciated a good ride through the Cape Henlopen State Park. Mr. Meier was a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, relishing in their recent Super Bowl victory. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle.
Mr. Meier is survived by his wife, Lynn Ellen (Hallman) Meier of Rehoboth Beach, DE; one son, Robert Francis Meier and his wife Dolores of Springfield, PA; two daughters: Carole Lynn Stackhouse and her husband Larry of Ridley Park, PA and JoAnne Forbes and her husband Hays of Springfield, PA; seven grandchildren: Larry, Matt, Joe, Allison, Bobby, Sean, and Linze; three great grandchildren: Sammy, Kimberly, and Nora; four sisters: Shirlee Chaplin and her husband John, Nancy Klopp, Ruth Bergey, and Lynda DiGioia and her husband Thomas; along with several loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
