Francis H. Murray's Obituary
Francis H. Murray, age 79, of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at his home. He was born in Chester, PA, on August 13, 1932, son of the late Dr. Thomas E. Murray MD and Helen Dougherty Murray. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Thomas Murray and a sister Phyllis McGroerty.
Mr. Murray worked 30 years for A & P until 1978 at which time he opened his own IGA Grocery in West Chester, PA which later grew into three stores. In 1995 he and his wife moved to Delaware where he took a part-time position from 1996 until 2005 at the Food Lion in the Nanticoke Shopping Center. He enjoyed salt water fishing, boating, crabbing and was an Eagles Fan.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace Piasecki Murray; two daughters: Dorothy Murray of Millsboro, DE and Lori Swearer and her husband Ken of Coatesville, PA; three grandchildren: Dayne Swearer and McKayla Swearer of Coatesville, PA and Jason Murray of Millsboro, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 11, 2012, at 12:00 PM, at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE; family and friends may visit at the church beginning at 10:30 AM.
Interment with military honors will follow the Mass at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
