Francis Robert Frey's Obituary
Francis Robert Frey, age 86, of Georgetown, DE passed away on Monday, May 27, 2013 at his residence. He was born on April 11, 1927 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Andrew and Josephine (Hartman) Frey.
Mr. Frey proudly served his country during WWII, serving in the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed a longtime career as a partner in "Affiliated Sales," a Specialty Manufacturing Hardware company. Mr. Frey loved the theatre and singing. He was an active member of the Bayshore Community Players and Possum Point Players. He was a member of the choir at St. Catherine's in Holmdel, NJ and a parishioner at St. Michael's in Georgetown where he also sang in the church choir. Mr. Frey was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holmdel Republican Club.
Mr. Frey enjoyed snow skiing and travelling across the United States and Europe. He was a sports enthusiast who could always be found watching the New York Mets during baseball season and the New York Giants during football season. He will be remembered for his comedic personality, powerful singing and theatrical flair for life. He was affectionately known as "Pop Pop" to his family. His love and devotion to family will live on in each of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Frey was preceded in death by his daughter Elyse Fogarty. Mr. Frey is survived by his loving wife, Elaine M. Frey; two sons: Christopher M. Frey and wife Jean of Jamestown, NC and F. Scott Frey and wife Eloise of Racine WI; four grandsons: Kevin Fogarty and wife Janet of Hazlet, NJ; Marc Fogarty and wife Amy of Hazlet, NJ; Joshua Frey of Racine, WI and Brian Frey of Racine, WI; one granddaughter: Jessica Zenzen and husband Sean of High Point, NC; five great-granddaughters: Leanne Fogarty, Ashley Fogarty and Elizabeth Fogarty all of Hazlet, NJ; Ella Zenzen and Rose Zenzen both of High Point, NC; one great-grandson: Matty Fogarty of Hazlet, NJ and his beloved Golden Retriever Tru.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 from 10:00-11:30 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE, where a Prayer Service will follow at 11:30 AM.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, 549 County Road 520, Marlboro, NJ 07746.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE 19963.
