Francis "Fran" Bennett Frampton, age 80, of Lewes, DE passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE. He was born on Friday, December 13, 1935 in Trappe, MD, son of the late Bennett S. Frampton Read Obituary
Sorry to read about the passing of my old friend and mentor. My first teaching job was as an Industrial Arts teacher at Redland Middle School with Francis back in the mid 1970's.I was hired after a veteran teacher left because of discipline issues. Francis helped my get through the first year and taught me many skills in woodworking, leather working, mechanical drawing and metal working I still use today. We taught together for 3 years and helped me get through the tough days of dealing with adolescents. I enjoyed the after school happy hour parties at his home where everyone had a great time. Over the years I would see him at craft shows where he would selling wooden toys he had built and Dulcimers. He was a craftsman and built things with the finest quality. He wasn't shy in calling himself a Master and he was absolutely right. Francis was generous , After getting married our first TV was a console model he had given us. It was dated but worked and over the years my 2 children loved watching cartoons on it in our basement. I also would see Francis at our Industrial Arts Team Meetings and we would catch up on what was happening with our families and our programs where we taught. I was honored when asked by Francis to be part of a luncheon prior to his retirement. I was the only one invited by Francis and the resource teacher from his school. The resource teacher told me when he asked Francis who he would like to invite he said he only mentioned my name. I gave him a fifth of Old Grand Dad as a retirement gift knowing grand kids were around the corner in his life. After he moved to Delaware, we kept in touch with Christmas cards where we would share what had been going on the prior year. He advised me after I had been teaching for 30 years not to put it off retirement. I ended up retiring after 33 years and enjoying it for the last 7. I still have and use for tool storage a metal magazine box Francis gave me he acquired while in the army during the Korean War. I will miss not having the Christmas Cards we exchange this year but will never forget what he taught me over the years and the friendship we had. Damian Smigocki
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss! I will always remember Mr Frampton fondly as one of our favorite neighbors. He was very talented and I remember him always being there for my family.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with all of you. In our minds, we saw Francis as a fine man with a very dry sense of humor, like a fine wine, savored and enjoyed. One thing for sure, and that was his love for his family, the glow on his face telling us stories. A great conversationalist and teacher, we wish we had more time to enjoy the things he had to share, but definitely thankful for the time we did have. Quite an amazing man! Rest my friend.
