Francis "Guy" E. O'Hazza's Obituary
Francis "Guy" E. O'Hazza, age 83, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, formerly of Washington, DC and Alexandria, VA, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, DE. He was born April 22, 1925 in Beaver Meadows, PA, son of the late Wassil and Susan (Metro) O'Hazza.
Mr. O'Hazza owned and operated a real estate company in Alexandria, VA for many years and he was a real estate developer in the Washington Metropolitan area as well. He was a founding member of the National Capital Kennel Club of Washington, DC; a member of Sports Car Club of America, the Mercedes Benz Club of America, and the National Rifle Association. Mr. O'Hazza and his wife of 58 years relocated to Rehoboth Beach in 1978 where he joined St. Edmond's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He served with the U.S. Army during WW II and was a member of the Rehoboth Beach American Legion Post #5. Francis and Susie spent 17 winters in the Cayman Islands.
Mr. O'Hazza is survived by his wife Susie Bell (Waple) O'Hazza; a daughter, Susan Marie Brown and her husband Brian of Rehoboth Beach; two sons, Guy Richard O'Hazza of Palos Verdes Estates, CA and John Waple O'Hazza and his wife Margaret "Terry" of Rehoboth Beach; five grandchildren, Jacquelyn J. O'Hazza of Grand Cayman, Josh P. O'Hazza of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, Robert G. Taylor, Cayman L. Taylor and Kiana Taylor, all of Millsboro, DE; and one sister, Margaret Skotnicki of Camp Hill, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Raymond Forrester on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, 11:00 AM at St. Edmond's Catholic Church, King Charles & Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, DE Route 1, Milton, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Edmond's Catholic Church at the above address or to Tunnel Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
