Francesco G. D'Ignoti's Obituary
Francesco G. D'Ignoti, age 63, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at Bayhealth-Milford. He was born in Palermo, Italy, on January 14, 1948, son of the late Giuseppe and Anna (Giliberto) D'Ignoti.
Mr. D'Ignoti grew up in Brooklyn, New York learning the restaurant business from the ground up. He returned to Italy for Christmas one year and met the love of his life, Francesca. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Italy to marry and start his family. In 1994, the family moved to Crofton, MD and Mr. D'Ignoti opened Frank's Italian Kitchen in Bowie, MD. In 2008, the family moved to Lewes and Frank opened the Bistro Cafe in Dewey Beach winning over the hearts of many who love great Italian food. For 27 years, Frank and his sweetheart shared their passion for people and cooking. Mr. D'Ignoti was a hard worker who was typically dressed in blue jeans, white T-shirt and an apron. He was a community man, enjoyed playing cards, was very jovial, loved his Italian heritage and most of all his family. He never missed an episode of his favorite TV show, Two and a Half Men. He will be missed by so many who shared his love for life.
Mr. D'Ignoti is survived his loving wife of 27 years, Francesca (Giannalia) D'Ignoti of Lewes; a son, Davide D'Ignoti and a daughter, Valeria D'Ignoti, both of Lewes; and many dear friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 5:30 PM at Bowie New Life Assembly of God Church, 17214 Queen Anne Road, Bowie, MD 20774 with Rev. Charles M. Galbreath officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services. Burial will be at a later date in Italy. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
