Frances Pauline Burnside's Obituary
Frances Pauline (Marks) Burnside, age 99, of Harbeson, DE, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008. She was born April 4, 1909 in Quakertown, PA to the late Elmer and Laura Eleanor (Shauntz) Marks.
Mrs. Burnside moved from Pennsylvania to Delaware in 1940. Over the years, she attended the Lutheran Church. Frances was primarily a homemaker and also worked in the dietary department of the Beebe Medical Center for many years.
She is survived by her four daughters: Kay Stevenson of Florida, Janice Dewit of Delaware, Laura Morrill of Virginia, and Sarah McFalls of Delaware; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Burnside was preceded in death by her husband William Stockley Burnside (1972).
All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Tunnell Cancer Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
