Frances Ruthven Bahn's Obituary
Frances Ruthven (Joseph) Bahn, age 88, of Lincoln, DE, formerly of Georgetown, DE, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2009, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born June 28, 1920 in Georgetown, daughter of the late Julius H. and Flora E. (Hudson) Joseph.
Mrs. Bahn worked at the University of Delaware, Extension Program, for 28 years where she was known as a "Jack-Of-All Trades." She loved life, had a warm and humorous wit, enjoyed doing crafts, loved reading, and was a volunteer with numerous organizations. She was the granddaughter of the famous waterfowl carver Ira Hudson.
In additon to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul Bahn (1970). She is survived by her niece and her husband, Wanda and Steve Lorentz of Lincoln and extended family from Chincoteague, VA.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2009, 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, Adams & Race Streets, Georgetown, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, Georgetown, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
