Floyd H. West III's Obituary
Floyd "Wes" H. West III, age 79 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2018, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE after a long battle with cancer. He was born on May 8, 1939 in Wilmington, DE, son of the late Floyd Jr. and Dorothy (Hyland) West.
Mr. West was a proud Veteran, having honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He built a career as a Master Plumber and for 17 years was self-employed. Mr. West went on to work for Beebe Healthcare until his retirement in 2004. He was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, and the Corvette Club. Mr. West enjoyed camping, fishing, and following his favorite drivers in NASCAR. More than anything, however, he cherished time spent with his adored family. Mr. West was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. West was preceded in death by his brother, Gary West; and his sister, Joann West. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dorothy West of Millsboro, DE; his sons: Patrick West (Rose) and Douglas West, both of Millsboro, DE; his grandchildren: GySgt. Michael West (Jennifer), Kyle West (Christina), and Amanda West; his 9 great-grandchildren; and many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
