Florence Isabel Webb's Obituary
Florence Isabel Webb, age 91 of Greenwood, DE, passed away on Friday, March 17, 2017 at her home. She was born in Georgetown, DE, on Thursday, February 18, 1926, daughter of the late Charles and Nancy (Penuel) Donovan.
Mrs. Webb was born and raised in Redden, moved to Greenwood when she married, and lived the rest of her life there. She graduated Georgetown High School with the Class of 1944. Mrs. Webb was an active member of McColley's United Methodist Church in Georgetown, DE where she was the church treasurer and a volunteer pianist for 74 years. She loved being involved in church activities, and she treasured the community there. Mrs. Webb enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was known for having immaculate, multiple, large gardens and for her famous dumplings. She was also a board member of the Redden Community Center. More than anything, however, Mrs. Webb cherished the time spent with her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Woodrow Webb; her brother, Preston Donovan; and her sisters: Esther Mitchell, Elsie Walton, Mildred Burton, and Nora Forest. She is survived by her son, Robert Webb and his wife Doreen of Seaford, DE; her daughter, Betty Mihalik and her husband George of Greenwood, DE; her grandchildren: Mark Mihalik, Beth Moore, Eric Mihalik, Doug Webb, Ronnie Webb, and Andy Webb; her great-grandson, Mark Moore, Jr; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at St. Johnstown Cemetery, St. Johnstown Road, Greenwood, DE.
