Eva J. Fleming's Obituary
Eva J. Fleming, age 87, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away at home on Sunday, March 13, 2016. She was born Friday, November 23, 1928 in Trujillo Alto, PR, to Gonzalo and Teresa Diaz Carpintero.
On November 23, 1953 she married the love of her life, Edward Joseph "Eddie" Fleming, who passed away on July 25, 2015. They shared 62 wonderful years together raising their family. She was a member of the Beebe Auxiliary for over 31 years. Mrs. Fleming worked as a translator for many years at Beebe Hospital, Rehoboth Beach Police Department, the Delaware State Police and for Cape Henlopen High School.
She was known as the best cook in the entire family to all who were lucky enough to eat in her kitchen. She loved watching the Washington Redskins on Sundays. Mrs. Fleming was the youngest of 12 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Fleming is survived by her two daughters: Rose Mary Fleming of Towson, MD and Eva Marie "Sissy” Morrison of Rehoboth Beach, DE; two sons: Matthew Edward Fleming and his wife Patsy Ann of Pittsburgh, PA and William L. Fleming and his wife Kathryn H. of Towson, MD; nine grandchildren: Heather, Edward, Kaci, William, David, Allison, Michael, Lucas and Amelia; and a great-granddaughter, Emma.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016, at 11:00 AM at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow the services at 1:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Rd., Dagsboro, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to in lieu of flowers to the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 327, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
