Eugene C. Morris' Obituary
Eugene C. Morris, Sr., age 69, of Rehoboth Beach, DE died Sunday, June 25, 2006, at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. He was born October 9, 1936 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Eugene E. and Ruth (Hamilton) Morris.
Mr. Morris had a long career with the former Philadelphia Electric Company as an underground inspector. For 40 years he was a banjo player with the Mummers Philadelphia String Band and he was an avid model train collector. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior in Rehoboth Beach.
He is survived by his wife Barbara J. (Smith) Morris; four daughters, Laurieanne Morris of North Providence, RI; Mary Ann DiIoreo of North Providence, RI; Renee L. Fisher of Hatfield, PA; and Theresa Dillman of Boyertown, PA; one son, Eugene C. Morris, Jr. of Soudertown, PA; 21 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 29, 11:30 AM at the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach with Pastor Donald Schaefer officiating. A second service will be held Saturday, July 1, 10 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 1000 West Main Street, Lansdale, PA with Pastor Dale Maloy officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Huntingdon Valley, PA. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 7 Bay Vista Drive, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
