Dear Carl,
You may not remember me; I am Bill Dunlop's niece. I met you and Ernie at Billy's 50th birthday party, and then saw you again at Billy's opening in New York.
Though I was only around Ernie for a very brief time, he made a big impression on me. He made me feel so welcome in Billy's circle of friends, as if he had known me my whole life. I remember his mischievous sense of humor and his debonair sense of style. I remember thinking that Billy was very lucky to have such a charming, witty, warm friend.

My heart goes out to you, Ernie's family, and his many friends. I have nothing but fond memories of Ernie, and am just sorry that it has been so long since I was in Rehoboth. But I am thankful that we were able to get together the last time I was there.

Ernie was exceptional in everything that he did in his life. His spirit is strong and he will always be with you. Love is the strongest force in the universe, it does not die but always remains with the people who know and love you.
