Ernest John Tramposch "Ernie", age 69, of Milton, DE passed away at his residence on Monday, May 27, 2019. He was born on July 20, 1949 in Queens, NY, son of the late Ernest Walter John and Lillian Williams Tramposch.
Ernie was a proud graduate of Christ the King High School in Middle Village, NY. He earned his college degree at Pace University in Marketing.
His first job out of college was at Gimbel Brothers where he spent 9 years in various roles. Subsequently he moved to AT&T for 18 years establishing his experience in telecommunications. Finishing his career at Tyco Electronics as a Project Manager managing undersea communications systems largely in Asia. He had served his country for 12 years in the National Guard.
A true sports fan, he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm by coaching his son’s in baseball, soccer, and basketball. He even coached a grandson in basketball before moving to Delaware. He personally spent almost his entire life playing baseball, softball, and most importantly golf. Upon retirement he was able to enjoy countless rounds of golf with a wonderful group of friends. And anyone who knew Ernie, he was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Ernie Tramposch is survived by his wife of 48 years, Monica Tramposch; three children: Steven Tramposch and his wife Denise, Lynn Bishop and her husband Michael, and Mark Tramposch; eight grandchildren: Amanda Tramposch, Rachel Tramposch, Shaun Bishop, Jack Bishop, Fiona Bishop, Alanna Bishop, Andrew Tramposch, and Cole Tramposch; and three siblings: Thomas, James, Sr., and Joanne Tramposch.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 12:00 PM at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 11:00 AM.
Friends may also call on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Tramposch's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, PO BOX 1893, Memphis, TN 38101 or The Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network, 4915 Saint Elmo Avenue, Suite 202, Bethesda MD 20814.
