Erika Lola Robb's Obituary
Erika Lola Robb, age 83 of Bridgeville, DE, passed on Monday, February 24, 2014, at Delmar Nursing & Rehab. Center in Delmar, DE. She was born in Nuremberg, Germany on Thursday, October 16, 1930, daughter of the late George and Katharina (Neuwirth) Baumgartner.
In 1951, Ms. Robb emigrated with her new husband David N. Robb from Germany to the United States where she established residency in the Washington DC area. She began her life long career as a Teacher, where she especially enjoyed interactions with special needs children. Ms. Robb was a devout Catholic and previously served as a Vice President of the Sons of Italy. Her passion for history brought her to a position at Accokeek National Colonial Farms in MD which she thoroughly enjoyed. She continued her love of history by reenacting at the Colonial Farms in Accokeek, MD; dressing in period clothing and sharing history with visitors. In 2006, Ms. Robb retired and relocated to the Delaware beach area nearer to the bay waters, where she felt most at home. Ms. Robb will be missed dearly by her family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Robb was preceded in death by her daughter, Erika Vida Weedon and her grandson, Erik David Etienne. She is survived by her two sons: George c. Robb and his wife Margherita of Salt Lake City, UT and David N. Robb and his wife Teresa of Ellendale, DE; one daughter, Patricia N. Pillor of Bowie, MD; seven grandchildren: Sofia Robb, Robert Bruce Lindsay II, Joya Jennings, Christopher Robb, Mark Pillor, Brigette Robb and Alicia Weedon; and three great-grandchildren: Ashlyn Lindsay, Noah Pillor and Alaina Robb.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2:00 PM, at Union United Methodist Church, 2 N. Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE.
